Tom thumb pharmacy in suburban St. Louis, Missouri, has been closed and the owner has been fired.
The St. Charles Post-Dispatch reports the store, located in the suburb of Hartsdale, closed Tuesday.
The owner was not immediately available for comment.
The store’s Facebook page said the store closed for “business reasons.”
The St Charles Post reports the owner, Robert “Bob” Ries, had been with the pharmacy since 2014.
He was fired on Thursday after the newspaper learned of the allegations, according to the paper.
Ries said he’s trying to get the store reopened and was trying to negotiate with the store’s owner, who he called the “best employee in the business.”
Ries, whose real name is Robert T. “Bobbie” Rieber, is a licensed pharmacist and owns the pharmacy.
The store is known for providing quality and affordable healthcare to people who are in need.
